Other Services

Volumetrics

When a survey model has been produced, any number of proposed models can be generated using our software. From this, accurate quantites - or cut and fill calculations - can be produced.

Further surveys can be undertaken at regular intervals, or on specific material layers, to produce accurate quantities as work progresses.

Volumetrics is especially valuable to quarries, golf course, reservoir design and land fill. Any job where shaping and shifting becomes an important element.

Drainage

Using Radiodetection & Ground Penetrating Radar (GPRS), we are able to locate underground utilities services. This can be superimposed onto an OS base map, topographical survey or combination of both. Service avoidance using this data is a must for piling, ground investigation, building contractors & facilities or property managers.

Photogrammetry

Photogrammetry is a long standing technique by which quantitative information is gained from pairs of photographs. By taking two images of the same object, the images can be combined into a 3D image. By incorporating control points during the photography, these can then be used to determine scale.

GIS Data Collection

We will gather data to provide a comprehensive data base on features such as street furniture, road markings, rail inventories / highways etc. There is no restriction on the amount or type of information that can be included.

CAD

We are able to produce traditional hard copy drawings on paper or film, and also data on disk in a wide range of software formats, including:

  • AutoCAD DWG & DXF
  • Microstation
  • Moss / MX Site
  • PanTerra
  • PDS

Check Surveys

We can carry out check surveys at various phases of construction, as an independent check, if required.

This could be checking the position of boundary fences, site access roads, building foundations or steel columns etc.

Another example, is to physically check visibility splays on-site for proposed site entrances.

Digital Terrain Modelling (DTM)

Our land surveys are surveyed in 3D. Therefore, we can not only provide contoured plans but also 3D digital terrain models (DTMs) on disk. This is a computer generated model of the topography of the site.

We create DTMs for most land surveys that we perform as this is used for the creation of the site contours. We can also produce site cross-sections if required.
